Ackerman Plumbing History

Since 1946, our family has been serving the needs of our clients along the East Coast. Established by Ray Ackerman over 70 years ago, Ackerman Plumbing Inc. operates from our locations in Buffalo, New York and Sarasota, Florida.

Our family-owned and operated business is now four generations strong, and provides leading plumbing expertise to commercial plumbing projects, from hospitals and hotels, to schools and art museums. The business began as Ackerman & Huebsch Inc., where the company’s slogan, “World’s Greatest Plumbers’ originated.

After gaining full ownership in 1962, Ray Ackerman’s son, James Ackerman, took over the business. For the next 35 years, Ackerman Plumbing continued to grow, providing quality residential and commercial services. In 1996, Eric Ackerman, a third generation master plumber, obtained ownership of the company.

In 2004, Eric Ackerman opened the south Florida location. Working alongside his niece, Carly Bonora, Vice President, the team continues the family tradition of quality workmanship and integrity that began in 1946.

Today, Ackerman Plumbing is still dedicated to timely service, employee expertise, and safe practices.  Our unique office distribution has allowed us to tackle challenging projects on both ends of the east coast. Focused on the commercial, institutional and governmental markets, we are proud to be a trusted partner for both contractors and business owners.

After more than 70 years of quality service, Ackerman Plumbing continues to grow, now employing over 180 team members. Our philosophy has remained unchanged, and we still dedicated to offering exceptional workmanship, competitive pricing, and guaranteed craftsmanship, all while maintaining the highest level of safety.

While the industry has certainly changed over the past seven decades, Ackerman Plumbing has stayed on the cutting edge of the market with advances in BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, Certified AutoCAD and Revit. These technologies allow us to cut down on costs, identify issues prior to the start of construction, and streamline the process to save time and resources.
